About Dance Bahamas School
Mission Statement
To provide a high standard in the dance arts thereby promoting public interest in, and support for the aims of The National Dance Company of The Bahamas, while providing role models and professional goals for aspiring students in the dance arts.
Dance Bahamas School (DBS) was established to train young Bahamian dancers who would become members of the
National Dance Company of The Bahamas (NDCB).
After spending 2 years on the campus of the College of The Bahamas, it became apparent that the NDC needed its own space and means by which it could be sustained. As a result, Dance Bahamas was born in the Bain Town area, one of the oldest communities on the island of New Providence Bahamas. The school is located on Nassau Street one block from the College of The Bahamas and 10 minutes from the centre of down town Nassau.
Today, DBS fulfills its mandate by training dancers who become members of the NDCB. Members of Dance Bahamas have gone on to dance with other companies locally and internationally.
Dance Bahamas offers specialized training for students of all ages, as well as pre-professional and professional programmes. Its curriculum reflects the experience and knowledge of its Director.
Dance Bahamas School Training
